May 2019

May 5th, 2019

Dear Parents,

The daycare will be closed on Monday May 20 for Victoria Day.

Happy birthday this month to Jovan, Isabelle, Alexander, Edward, Tayo, and Maverick.

This month we continue to learn about our environment and talk more about Spring time, bugs, and other creepy crawlies that we can see in our surroundings. Our themes for this month will include gardening, and fruits and vegetables. Children will participate in activities using recycled materials that will enhance their creativity and imagination.

Preschool children will continue to learn sounds, writing, and recognition of the Alphabet. We will focus on leadership with the children by having a Leader of the Day.

For Mother’s Day, children are already learning songs and preparing lovely crafts for their moms or grandmothers.

Children continue to work on sharing and cooperation so we plan some group projects and team artwork.

We will be having a Pajama day and a dress up day this month.

April 2019

March 31st, 2019

Dear Parents,

The daycare will be closed Friday April 19th and Monday April 22nd for Good Friday and Easter Monday.

We would like to welcome Hugo and Eddie to our program.

Happy Birthday this month to Carter, Quinn, Bennett, and Mason.

This month children are very excited to learn about the Easter holidays: reading stories, singing songs, and will be making baskets for their Easter Egg Hunt which will be on Thursday April 18th.

We will continue to explore multicultural holidays as well as learn about our environment because we will be celebrating Earth Day on April 22nd. Children will learn how Earth Day started and what we all need to do to protect the Earth. Children will be making lots of arts and crafts using recycled materials.

We have tons of other fun stuff planned this month.

March 2019

March 4th, 2019

Dear Parents,

Welcome to Reuben, Bennett, Jameson and William who joined our program this month.

We would like to wish a Happy Birthday to Gabby, Michael, and Sutter.

Our new teacher Mrs. Nora joined us this month. She will be working with Mrs. Hilda in the Baby Room.

In February we had fun celebrating Valentine’s day and those who we love, as well as learning about the importance of family and friendship. As we move into the month of March, we will be shifting our focus to St. Patrick’s day and catching those sneaky little leprechauns. St. Patricks Day is on March 17th, and to celebrate this, we will make all sorts of crafts using the color green. Each week we will talk about a different colour of the rainbow, how rainbows are formed, and different types of weather, such as wind, rain, thunder, and lightning.

March is national reading month, so we will read some new stories and we invite the children to bring their favorite books so they can share them with all our friends.
