September 2017

September 8th, 2017

Dear Parents,

Summer is over, and the fall season is fast approaching. Each room is getting back to their regular routine in September. Our regular room teachers are coming back from their vacations. At this time we would like to thank our substitute teachers, Sarita, Shital, and Olga, for their hard work and dedication as they will continue to help when needed.

Happy birthday this month to Jude, Drew, Spencer, Isabelle, and Victor.

I would like to welcome all the new families to our daycare. It is a great place for children to grow, make friends, and learn new skills. We are off to a great start and the children are adjusting wonderfully. We have lots of exciting things for them to learn this year.

Dear Parents,

Happy birthday to Nolan, Maverick, and Makayla this month.

May has already arrived and hopefully it brings some nice weather with it so we could spend more time outdoors. Babies and young toddlers will enjoy the play house, bikes, and playing with the sand table. Summer time is approaching so please let us know when your child will be away in July-August, this will help us plan staff vacations. If you’re going to be away, there’s a holding spot fee of $200/month.

Last month we completed some renovations to our playground and also put up a brand new fence. Hopefully you have noticed, because your children noticed it right away!

This month the preschool children will be learning all about our community and community helpers. They were so excited to go on field trips to Oakridge Co-op, a hair salon, and dentist office. They enjoyed interacting with all of these members of their community.

Happy Mothers Day to all our mom’s. The children are working hard preparing your gifts. We hope you enjoy them!

The daycare will be closed for Victoria Day – Monday May 22nd.

Dear Parents,

The daycare will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday, April 14th and 17th.

Happy birthday to Bennett T., Avica, Bennett P., Ali, Kyra, Sierra, and David, this month.

We would like to welcome Bennett T., Gabby, Bennett P., Jack, Amelie who are joining us this month and hope they enjoy their time with us at Bambi.

We are finally enjoying some warmer weather. “April showers bring May flowers”. We have spent so much time indoors and are very excited to spend more time outside. Our children straighten growing muscles when they are climbing, running, jumping, and playing outside.

This month infants will be playing with chocolate pudding to resemble mud. They will be making Easter chicks and adding feathers to make them beautiful. They will end this month with making sun mobiles and kites.

Toddlers will start April off by learning about baby animals that are born in spring, and ladybugs. Preschool children will be learning about the life cycle of butterflies. Children will also be making clouds and rainbows.

For Easter, children will be painting eggs and decorating Easter baskets.

On Thursday, April 13, the children will have an Easter Egg Hunt and an Easter Hat Parade where they will wear their beautifully decorated hats.

If you would like to bring any treats for the children, please make sure there is enough for everyone.

March 2017

March 1st, 2017

Dear Parents,

As some of you noticed, we have a new staff member in the Baby Room. Mrs. Rose is an Elementary School teacher from the Philippines and has child care experience in Canada as well. She is a great addition to the Bambi family.

We would like to welcome some new friends: Grace, Eliza, and Jacob who joined the Baby Room, Toddler 1, and Toddler 2 this month.

Happy birthdays go out to Elliotte, Sutter, and Jaden.

March is national reading month, so we will read some new stories and we invite the children to bring their favorite books so they can share them with all our friends on Friday for Show and Tell. We are continuing with our Library Program at the daycare. The librarian will come every Tuesday from 3-4pm starting March 14th.

Spring is slowly arriving and children still like to go outside and play. It can be very wet outside so please bring extra clothes, snow pants and boots for your children and dress them weather-appropriate.

This is the time to sign up your children who are going to be in kindergarten in September. We are driving children to St. Benedict, Nellie McClung, Cedarbrae, and Louis Riel. Please let Jane know which school your child will be attending.

The children love pets, so Toddler Room 1 and the Baby Room will be discussing different pets, what sounds they make, what they eat, and where they live.

Children in the Preschool Room started learning the Alphabet and letter recognition, as well as learning the different types of food groups this month.

St. Patricks Day is on March 17th, and to celebrate this we will be making some leprechauns, pots of gold, and rainbows. You can also dress your child up in green.

January 2017

January 6th, 2017

Dear Parents,

Happy Birthdays this month go out to Michael, Anders, and Sadie.

A lot of babies joined our program this month. Welcome to Alexie, Anders, Colin, Michael, and Maya. We are also joined by Borden and Avica in Toddler 1. Maverick is back to Toddler 2, and Menyamer will be joining our Preschool room.

December was a fun and fast paced month at Bambi. The children were busy practicing for the concert. We talked about how holidays are celebrated around the world as well as cold weather and animals that live in the forest. It was wonderful to have so many parents, grandparents, and siblings join us for our Christmas Concert. We had a wonderful time and hope you did as well. Thank you for all the kind Christmas cards and gifts, we really appreciated them.

In January, we will be reestablishing our routines as well as reviewing and reinforcing what we have already learned. Preschool children will continue to work on the alphabet and numbers. In Toddler 2 we are also working on self-help skills such as zipping our own coats and putting on our own hats and mittens. Please help by reinforcing this at home.

During this cold, snowy month we will be experiencing winter fun outside, so please bring outdoor necessities every day.
