March 2023
Friday, March 10th, 2023Dear Parents,
Spring is slowly arriving and some days it is very wet outside, but children still like to go and play. Please bring extra clothes, snowpants and boots for your child.
We would like to welcome Mrs. Olga who will be working in the Preschool Room.
Friday March 17th is St. Patrick’s Day. WE WEAR GREEN!
March is a busy month for birthdays. Happy Birthday to Ellari, Teagan, Nate, Atlas, Vallen, Angus, Andrew, and Kaira.
Baby Room
St. Patrick’s Day is coming, so the babies will make cool green crafts, such as shamrocks with their hands, sponge painting, and finger painting. We will be learning action songs like Wheels on the Bus, The Shape Song, and the Alphabet Song.
We are happy to see the development of our babies.
Riley is growing fast. He likes to help teachers during clean-up time, loves to race with the other children, and likes to paint.
Frankie is practicing her communication skills. She is shaking her head for no and yes, saying words like “mom,” “dad,” and “me,” and she is pointing to things.
Hadley is always up for any activity. She likes to run, jump, do storytime, and silly songs.
Etta has adapted to her new surroundings and routines easily. She is perfectly content to play with the other children, or by herself. She loves to play peek-a-boo with scarves.
Levi is a sensitive child and he makes friends easily. He likes to play with cars, puzzles, and blocks.
Isabella has advanced in her social skills. She is happy and friendly with the other children, eating well, and taking long naps.
Briar is adjusting well; she is happy and very active. She gets along with her friends and teachers. Sometimes she is picky with her food and prefers to eat food from home.
Paul is an active boy. He likes to play with cars, trains, and blocks. He loves going down the rocket slide on the playground.
Harper is adjusting to daycare routines. She is a very good eater, listens to teachers and is friendly with other kids.

Happy March!
It is starting to feel more like spring. Our themes for this month include Dr Seuss’s books, St. Patrick’s Day, Kites, and Birds.
For Dr Seuss, we will be reading stories by this beloved author. Our stories include The Cat in the Hat; Green Eggs and Ham; and Fox in Socks. The stories are inspiring our crafts. The children will put together a fish bowl, design a new hat for the cat, make green eggs and ham, design some silly socks, and more!
St. Patrick’s Day. We will be reading There Was an Old Woman Who Swallowed a Clover, How to Catch a Leprechaun, The Luckiest St. Patrick’s Day Ever, and Pete the Cat: The Great Leprechaun Chase. We will be creating clovers, pots of gold, rainbows, and leprechauns in our art centre.
Kites. We will be learning about wind and how kites fly. We will be reading Kites in Flight, Kite Day: A Bear and Mole Story, Stuck, and Curious George Flies a Kite. We will also explore the science behind how kites fly and we will be making all sorts of interesting kite projects in our art time. We will be showing the children the European Kite Festival. The children may want to make their own kites at home and try to fly them!
Birds. We will be learning about baby birds, what birds use for nesting materials, what baby birds eat, and the bird life cycle. We will be reading Mama Built a Little Nest, and Have you Heard the Nesting Bird? We will also show some short clips of birds in the nest-building process. In art, we will be creating our own nests, birds, egg paintings, and more!
