Dear Parents,

Thank you for completing the parent surveys which were sent earlier this year. After carefully reviewing all of the responses, the staff and parent committee have gathered the following: more fresh produce in the menus, and more updates on your child’s day. These suggestions will be implemented this month.

Our parent committee continues to meet online and we have 2 new members who joined, Emily and Allison. All communications are done through email. If you’d like to join, please send an email to with the subject line “Parent Committee”.

Just a reminder, if you have any suggestions or ideas, feel free to put them in the suggestion box located at the daycare entrance.

Happy birthdays this month to Avica, Kyra, Deaglan, Harriet, and Quinn.

We would like to welcome Joseph back to our program who stayed home with his family last year.
This month we are learning about multicultural spring holidays such as Easter, Passover, etc. Teachers will be having a potluck and showing children items, books, etc. from their country. As always, parents are welcome to join our multicultural event.

We started our program with the Southwood Library and we had our first visit from a librarian. Children really enjoyed her stories and songs. We are continuing with our music program with Mr. Michael who played Violin for us.

The older preschool children will be visiting a senior’s residence facility to sing and dance for them. We also made and painted little tulips for each of them.

We would like to say a big Thank You to Mrs. Shirley from the Food Bank who came to visit and talked to the children about generosity, and giving to others. She also brought a big box for us to fill up with non-perishable food items to donate to the Food Bank. The donation box is located at the side entrance to the Preschool Room. We will be collecting food donations for the month of April.

Dear Parents,

Happy birthday to Arizona, Jaden, Sutter, and Michael this month.

We would like to welcome Quinn to our program.

We had many exciting things to talk about and celebrate this past month. It all started with an exciting Chinese New Years celebration where we decorated the classroom and brought out special dress up items. We also had fun predicting the weather and making groundhogs for groundhog day. We always enjoy celebrating Valentines day and talking about families for Family day.  All the children made Valentines gifts for their families, and made cards for each other. We learned that being a good friend means cooperation, sharing, giving, and accepting compliments and apologies.

The children love pets, so we discussed different pets, what sounds they make, what they eat, and where they live.  We also started talking about fruits and vegetables because we want to be healthy.

March is national reading month, so we will read some new stories and we invite the children to bring their favorite books so they can share them with all our friends. We will be learning about different types of weather, such as wind, rain, thunder, and lightning. For Saint Patrick’s Day, we will be making some leprechauns, pots of gold, and rainbows. Children can dress up in green on Friday March 16th.
