Dear Parents,

Our Accreditation Site Visit is scheduled for April 28, 2009.

Thank you for completing the parent survey. Just a reminder, if you have any suggestions or ideas, feel free to put them in the suggestion box located at the daycare entrance.

Our Parent Committee meeting will be held in the daycare on April 7, 2009 at 6:00pm. All parents are welcome to attend.

We are very fortunate to have a very diverse center. If you would like to come and share your culture/costumes/food with our children, please feel welcome to contact Jane

We would like to welcome our new teacher Stacey that is working in Toddler Room 1. She has several years of experience working with toddlers.

Baby Room

Happy Birthday to Claire and farewell to Leah who moved to a different neighborhood. The weather is getting warmer, and we will try to go outsie every day. Children are slowly starting to talk. We like singing songs with them and doing more hands on activities, such as: finger painting and coloring with crayons.

If you have any used bibs that you don’t need anymore, we would gladly accept them for our room.

Toddler Room 1

We would like to welcome Simon to our room. Happy birthday to Robin this month. Our toddlers are really enjoying to play in the new water table and making lots of crafts. Parents please bring extra clothes for these messy activities.

We teach our children good manners, and teachers are always giving good examples by saying please and thank you to the children. Our music time with Marina is continuing and children are learning new songs and dances.

We would like to ask parents to bring children to the daycare no later than 9:30AM. We are doing lots of activities and children will be missing out if they come late.

Toddler Room 2

We would like to welcome Mariah and Lucas to our room. Happy birthday to her in April. Some more birthday wishes are going to Bree and Noah.

Our children really enjoyed St Patrick’s day. They learned about Ireland, Leprechauns, and Shamrock. We had lots of fun making these crafts.

Our children’s potty training is going very well in our room and soon we wont need any diapers at all. We started our program with the Southwood Library and we had our first visit from a librarian. Children really enjoyed her stories and songs. Our room is decorated for Easter, and we will be going on an “Egg Hunt” next week.

Preschool Room

We would like to welcome Chas to our room. April is a “birthday month” in our room. Birthday wishes are going to Jakob, Cody, Lenaea, Matthew and Makayla.

Children are learning about Easter and are preparing baskets for their “eggs”.

This month we are going to The Renoir Retirement Residence. We’ll be singing and dancing for the senior. We also made and painted little tulips for each of them.

Children are very excited to start our library program. The librarian will be coming every second Tuesday of the month and on April 15, we will be visiting Southwood Library.

We would like to ask parents not to forget to sign children in and out of our room.
