Dear Parents,

We would like to welcome Arizona, Oakley, and Hayden to our program this month.

Happy Birthday to Oakley, Max, Sorcha, Arielle and Kingston!

We had such a nice September, and October is feeling a lot different. Please remember to dress your children appropriately for the weather and label all your child’s clothing to avoid confusion.

It is the Fall season, so children are learning about leaves changing colors, collecting them, and making collages. The children will make greeting turkey cards, Thanksgiving plates, and learn new songs. They will brainstorm everything that they are thankful for and share it with the class.

Our Halloween Party will be on Tuesday October 31, so you can dress your child in a costume or bring one to the daycare for us to dress them up. We usually do our Halloween Costume Parade in each room,  and children 3 years and older will be having their parade around the block (if the weather will be nice). If you plan on bringing sweets for the children in the daycare, please make sure that they are peanut free and there is enough for the whole class.

The daycare will be closed on Thanksgiving (October 9).

With the flu season approaching, please keep your children home if they are not feeling well.

September 2017

Dear Parents,

Summer is over, and the fall season is fast approaching. Each room is getting back to their regular routine in September. Our regular room teachers are coming back from their vacations. At this time we would like to thank our substitute teachers, Sarita, Shital, and Olga, for their hard work and dedication as they will continue to help when needed.

Happy birthday this month to Jude, Drew, Spencer, Isabelle, and Victor.

I would like to welcome all the new families to our daycare. It is a great place for children to grow, make friends, and learn new skills. We are off to a great start and the children are adjusting wonderfully. We have lots of exciting things for them to learn this year.

May 2017

Dear Parents,

Happy birthday to Nolan, Maverick, and Makayla this month.

May has already arrived and hopefully it brings some nice weather with it so we could spend more time outdoors. Babies and young toddlers will enjoy the play house, bikes, and playing with the sand table. Summer time is approaching so please let us know when your child will be away in July-August, this will help us plan staff vacations. If you’re going to be away, there’s a holding spot fee of $200/month.

Last month we completed some renovations to our playground and also put up a brand new fence. Hopefully you have noticed, because your children noticed it right away!

This month the preschool children will be learning all about our community and community helpers. They were so excited to go on field trips to Oakridge Co-op, a hair salon, and dentist office. They enjoyed interacting with all of these members of their community.

Happy Mothers Day to all our mom’s. The children are working hard preparing your gifts. We hope you enjoy them!

The daycare will be closed for Victoria Day – Monday May 22nd.

Dear Parents,

The daycare will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday, April 14th and 17th.

Happy birthday to Bennett T., Avica, Bennett P., Ali, Kyra, Sierra, and David, this month.

We would like to welcome Bennett T., Gabby, Bennett P., Jack, Amelie who are joining us this month and hope they enjoy their time with us at Bambi.

We are finally enjoying some warmer weather. “April showers bring May flowers”. We have spent so much time indoors and are very excited to spend more time outside. Our children straighten growing muscles when they are climbing, running, jumping, and playing outside.

This month infants will be playing with chocolate pudding to resemble mud. They will be making Easter chicks and adding feathers to make them beautiful. They will end this month with making sun mobiles and kites.

Toddlers will start April off by learning about baby animals that are born in spring, and ladybugs. Preschool children will be learning about the life cycle of butterflies. Children will also be making clouds and rainbows.

For Easter, children will be painting eggs and decorating Easter baskets.

On Thursday, April 13, the children will have an Easter Egg Hunt and an Easter Hat Parade where they will wear their beautifully decorated hats.

If you would like to bring any treats for the children, please make sure there is enough for everyone.

March 2017

Wednesday, March 1st, 2017

Dear Parents,

As some of you noticed, we have a new staff member in the Baby Room. Mrs. Rose is an Elementary School teacher from the Philippines and has child care experience in Canada as well. She is a great addition to the Bambi family.

We would like to welcome some new friends: Grace, Eliza, and Jacob who joined the Baby Room, Toddler 1, and Toddler 2 this month.

Happy birthdays go out to Elliotte, Sutter, and Jaden.

March is national reading month, so we will read some new stories and we invite the children to bring their favorite books so they can share them with all our friends on Friday for Show and Tell. We are continuing with our Library Program at the daycare. The librarian will come every Tuesday from 3-4pm starting March 14th.

Spring is slowly arriving and children still like to go outside and play. It can be very wet outside so please bring extra clothes, snow pants and boots for your children and dress them weather-appropriate.

This is the time to sign up your children who are going to be in kindergarten in September. We are driving children to St. Benedict, Nellie McClung, Cedarbrae, and Louis Riel. Please let Jane know which school your child will be attending.

The children love pets, so Toddler Room 1 and the Baby Room will be discussing different pets, what sounds they make, what they eat, and where they live.

Children in the Preschool Room started learning the Alphabet and letter recognition, as well as learning the different types of food groups this month.

St. Patricks Day is on March 17th, and to celebrate this we will be making some leprechauns, pots of gold, and rainbows. You can also dress your child up in green.
